The Hodge wordpress theme design

The infamous Dom “The Hodge” Hodgson approached me to design him a Wordpress theme that was “professional but not formal and suited his personality”. A cartoon Hodge was the first thing that sprung to mind. So I sketched two cartoons of Dom, one for the top of the page (Guitar Hero’s Dom) and one for the bottom (Slumped Dom). The grungy style to the blog evolved naturally after that.

Wordweaver Marketing website
Word Weaver Marketing is the home of marketing and copywriting consultant Frances Day.
All Fran had was her logo and she wanted a clean, minimal website for her online presence that focused on her copy above all else.

North Cast website
NorthCast was a North England focused podcast covering local news, events and start-ups in the industry of the web.
I helped co-found NorthCast and the NorthCrew (the organising body of the North projects, which also includes NorthPack) and I co-presented the podcast and video coverage for the first 6 months of the shows life.
Unfortunately I had to hang up my flat cap and step down from NorthCast, for the simple reason of time which I couldn’t spare.

North Projects branding & logos
I took charge of the branding of the North projects. We wanted a common theme among the different sites, and our plan was to change the colour scheme between sites.
Havoc Studios website
Havoc Studios was the home of my first blog. I joined forces with Paul
Stanton with the mindset that we could produce much more interesting, technical content together than we could individually and it worked out pretty well, however times change, and Paul and I decided to “go our separate” ways and start our own blogs.I designed Havoc Studios, and I was always very pleased with the result. It appeared on designmeltdown.com under the module madness section and appears in Patrick McNeils book the Web Designers Idea Book.
I hate dead links which is why, if you visited havocstudios.co.uk, you’ve ended up here. If you were hoping to find Paul Stanton’s blog his new virtual home is coffeepowered.co.uk.
