So Stanton (Boagworld Researcher) and I began our "southern tour" with a trip to Southampton to visit Headscape, Paul Boag, Marcus Lillington and record show 138 as a Q&A session.

I'm in a book! A proper book with a cover and words and everything! So this is the second time I’ve appeared in print this month, it's quite weird really. On this occasion it's for my Havoc Studios design.

I've achieved one of my personal goals today. I'm featured in this months .net magazine issue 181 and I have to say I'm very excited to see my name (and face) in print!

We’ve all grumbled and complained about IE6 for years, and I don’t think there’s one of us that can’t wait to see the back of it and since seventh birthday on the 27th August the blogasphere seems to be inundated with talk of its much overdue death. And opinions seem to be varying.

So I’ve had my iPhone for couple of weeks now and I have to say, like many others, I love it. I do have a few annoyances though.

My latest project has gone live! Word Weaver is the new online home of marketing and copywriting consultant Frances Day.

So O2 sells out of the iPhone2.0 within 5 hours! I say 5 hours, because between the 7.30am e-mail and the Sold Out message appearing at 2.00pm their servers where down for 2 hours. What a shambles! Did you get yours?

When the iPhone first came out, I wasn’t bothered. It was Apple and I’m a PC man. In fact, I don’t even own an iPod.  I bought a Creative Zen instead. But all that has changed now…

I’ve finally taken some time and sat down to learn jQuery, and I have to say I think it’s fantastic. It makes javaScript fun and takes all the donkey work out of manipulating the DOM using dozens of lines of code.

We have a new arrival to the family. Harry Nightingale weighing in at 7lb 3.5oz. His relation to me is nephew on my wifes side.

I always get excited when I see my work featured somewhere and when it appears on Design Meltdown, one of my favourite sites, I get doubly so.

The blog engine I use for this site is Movable Type, it's very flexible and scalable and meets my needs quite nicely. I did however hit a few problems when integrating it, specifically with comments. In this blog I share my solution to the problem I had.

Anyone who follows me on Twitter will know that I've been having problems with accessing this site over the last couple of weeks. It's been a nightmare really. I've had intermittant access to this and all the sites I host for clients during that time and really it's been nobody's fault. Nobody I could blame in any case.
