As Featured on Design Meltdown

Design Meltdown - I'm on the homepage! WhooHoo!

I always get excited when I see my work featured somewhere and when it appears on Design Meltdown, one of my favourite sites, I get doubly so.

But just to add to this internal hysteria, Patrick McNeil has used my sites thumbnail for his blog post! My site!...

Okay, okay, I know it’s not much to get excited about, but it’s the little things that make me happy. And on checking my Google Analytics it seems I’ve had twice as many referrals from DM since the redesign than I had when version 1 of this site was featured a fair few months ago.

Does this mean that the redesign is twice as good as version 1?

I’d like to think so but probably not. Although I personally think that the 130px/100px thumbnail of this site compared to version 1’s thumbnail looks a lot more interesting.

Have more people visited this site because it appeared on the homepage?

It may have been a contributing factor, though that would have only applied to users who have physically visited DM and spotted my site on the homepage, as Patrick doesn’t include the thumbnails in his RSS.

Do people just like the colour blue?

It still remains a popular colour, so maybe.

Anyway I like to spread the love so I’ll remind you all that Patrick’s book “The Web Designer’s Idea Book” comes out in September and you can pre-order it now.

It’s a must buy in my opinion.
